Here’s my progress report for 4/4/2018:
-So, I have one book that I’ve been writing the most lately. It’s aimed at the middle school age and it’s called “Illithia”. It’s kind of a Cinderella retelling. I think I’m about… a little less then half-way done with it. I’ve been making progress on it fast though and I’ve got almost the entire story planned out already so I don’t think I’ll have trouble finishing it. I’m aiming to get it done by June, assuming it keeps up at the same pace it is now. It might even become a series, if It keeps making progress, because I have ideas already for a second book.
-Remember “The Price of Passion”? Well, I started it a while back and posted bits of it on here. It was an m/m science fiction romance, probably young adult and up. I got it to about 8,100 words before, then got stuck. Now though, I came up with a new idea that’s got it moving again. I’m reorganizing the scenes I’ve already written and adding in new scenes in between them. Once I’m done with that, I can continue with the rest of the story. I have no idea when that’ll get done with though, because I don’t know how long it’s going to be yet.
-Also, remember “Caroline”? Another one that I was posting scenes from before, although I think I may have re-written at least one of those scenes since then. It was another middle school age book with fairies. I have a binder full of hand written scenes for that one that I still have to organize and add to the google doc that I typed up for it before. I’m not sure how close that one is to being done because it’s all over the place, but it’s another one that has some length on it.
My strategy right now is to try to focus on the stories that are longer or more fully developed, mainly the three I just mentioned. I think I’ve finally figured out a good system for myself. I’m determined to get at least Illithia finished, preferably by June.
