Prayers for the Dawn

Rivers running, streaming down your chest

doesn’t taste like chocolate but something

sweeter, tangy taste of metal in the air

hollowed ground, insomnia, screaming,

blaring winds don’t reach me here

where you lie in my arms your

sweat tastes like salt watered oceans

sharks swimming, lobsters crawling in the sand,

moving, waves on waves, the moon,

her tides, she pulls, screaming, moaning,

crying into the night,

shattering the dawn, so

sacred we

are blessed.
